“I’ve learned all kinds of things through either vanpooling or carpooling. If I have a question about what cell phone plan to use or an investment, I just run it by the carpool! You get to learn something, you get advice, and you really get to know someone’s life amazingly well while you’re sharing a ride. If you like to learn things and share things, it’s the best way to save money, save the environment, and reduce the stress of your commute."

At least 5 participants, including 1-2 drivers, are needed to start a vanpool. The vanpool participants agree to a common meeting location and determine arrival and departure times.

Enterprise Rideshare provides the van with the insurance, maintenance and roadside assistance included. The cost of the vanpool, fuel and tolls is split among the group. Vanpool participants are covered by the Stanford Research Park Guaranteed Ride Program so you’ll never be stranded.

In addition, Stanford Research Park provides a $300 rebate to each new vanpool rider upon 3 months participation. The primary vanpool driver receives a $500 bonus after the vanpool has been operating for 6 months.
