Advancing New Materials in 3D Printing
Aja Hartman has been with HP Labs for the past 7 years, working as a research engineer developing print processes to enable new materials on HP’s 3D printing platforms. She enjoys working with her colleagues to solve real customer problems and gets excited when concepts experimentally prove feasible.
Bay Area Native
Aja grew up in Palo Alto, the home of Stanford Research Park, and attended high school less than 2 miles from where she now invents new technologies. She graduated from Santa Clara University with an MS in Materials Engineering and BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace.
One of her current interests is gardening at her new home in Sunnyvale, where she is happy to receive lots of help and advice from fellow enthusiasts.
A Philosophical Mindset
Aja’s favorite quote is from actor Richard Gere, “None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an afterthought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.”
