In late 2023, Broadcom announced plans to locate its global headquarters in Stanford Research Park following its acquisition of cloud-computing legend, VMware, whose own origin traces back to its start-up days in the Research Park. Notably, Broadcom is the “grandchild” of two other companies with storied origins in Stanford Research Park: Hewlett-Packard spun off Agilent Technologies in 1999, which in turn spun off a company that acquired Broadcom in 2015 and took its name.

Today, Broadcom is a global technology leader in its own right, developing, and supplying semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions. We’re pleased to welcome this exciting hardware and software tech giant to our community.
