Craig Moro is the Program Manager for Global Workplace Solutions at Varian Medical Systems. He manages cafeteria services, security, custodial, copy centers, commute alternatives and travel security.

Craig takes a VTA bus every day to the Stanford Research Park from South San Jose. “It’s a 45-minute ride in the morning and about 60 to 75 minutes in the evening” he explains. “I can read, work or sleep, and do a lot of different things that I couldn’t do safely while driving a vehicle.” In particular, he takes the opportunity to get ready for what’s coming his way ahead of time on any given workday. For example, by reading and addressing emails before even getting in the door.

Originally from Chicago, Craig has been living in South San Jose for the last 26 years, after a 4-year tour in the Marine Corps. A serious motocross enthusiast, he estimates that he covered about 500 miles of trails last year! After almost 30 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Craig says he is here to stay: “Silicon Valley is where everything happens as far as technology. Varian has been around for about 70 years, and it’s very well rooted here and at the Stanford University.”

Craig adds that Stanford Research Park Transportation services have been great too. There is a lot of collaboration between companies, which helps him better handle his workload and responsibilities.
