Name: Sean Villa-Lovoz

Employer: CPI

Job Position: Vice President of Human Resources

Where did you grow up? Santa Rosa, CA

Where do you commute from? Almaden in South San Jose

How many years have you been commuting by bike, and how often? Seven years; two to three days per week

Why do you bike? I bike in general because it is fun; and I bike commute because I consider it stealing time on the bike I would not otherwise have.

How do you combine bike + transit, and why do you commute like that? My one way commute is a minimum of 30 miles, so I often do not have it in me to ride the entire distance home. With that, I turn to VTA and the 102 express bus that runs through SRP. It's more than perfect: easy to get my bike on and off, and a great place to relax after a long ride in to work and day at the office.

What other kind of cycling do you do? I do lots of mountain biking and a few organized century rides each year on the road.

What do you wish drivers knew? Showing aggression towards cyclists by speeding up or “buzzing” us, can result in very serious consequences.

What would you say to new cyclists/those interested? Do you want to have fun on your way to work? Do you want to be fit? Do you want to save money? Do you want to be environmentally conscious? Ride a bike!!

As a Bike Champ, are you willing to help new cyclists in any way? I am available to answer questions, help with route planning or just talk about a great ride. Get in touch at: sean.villalovoz@cpii.com.

What’s something unrelated to biking that you like to do? Surf, sail, guitar, piano ... true lover of California crafted beverages!
