Ride Home

If you use a sustainable commute option such as transit, carpool, vanpool, or bicycle, and need an immediate ride due to an unexpected workday event, you may be eligible for an Uber or Lyft reimbursed ride through the SRPGO Guaranteed Ride Home program.

How it Works

Free or reimbursed rides can be provided to commuters who have used a sustainable commute mode (carpool, vanpool, bicycle, or transit) to get to work in SRP and need an immediate ride due to an unexpected emergency or circumstance occurring during work hours.

For example: if you/a family member becomes ill during your workday, or a significant transit disruption occurs on your commute, use your Uber or Lyft app to take a ride. Send the ride receipt to SRPGO@Stanford.edu with the reason for the ride. If you have a bicycle break-down on your work commute, contact the Uber or Lyft driver (via anonymous call feature) to see if they have room for you and your bike on-board. We'll reimburse these pick-ups too.

Use of the SRPGO Guaranteed Ride Home program is limited to a maximum of $100 per ride and 3 rides per calendar year. In lieu of Uber or Lyft, you may be able to take a taxi (if your employer has SRPGO taxi vouchers on-site. Check with your employer.).
